Thanks.

It’s been a busy few weeks here at the studio what with the Thanksgiving holiday and getting ready for the 5-day weekend that has just passed by. We’ve been dreaming up new items, so there’s definitely been some sort of progress in terms of new product offerings for the store, but not much else to report…

On a more personal tangent, this year’s thanksgiving was somewhat lackluster and disappointing, even though 2009 has actually been a banner year for me in terms of things to be thankful for. Part of the reason was that our family’s matriarch, my grandmother on my mom’s side, has been in Malaysia for the past month and won’t be back until after New Year’s. She’s the one that cooks the majority of the food, so the Thanksgiving/Christmas (we have the exact same meal for both) yams, stuffing, and turkey was a bit off this year. Not horrible, by any means, just…different. And although I want to pride myself on being somewhat non-traditional, I find more and more that I really…am, in surprising and sometimes disheartening ways.

Do people grow to rely on traditions as time passes and they grow older?

I think it’s true in my case.

Even though it’s technically over, happy thanksgiving from Orderly Civilians! Hope you had a lovely, safe, and delicious Thanksgiving weekend!
